Good morning Reader!
This is gonna be a very short newsletter today (for real!) because it's the last one before my wedding!
And as you can imagine I've been extremely busy between work and preparing all the little things that are left to do. And even then, I managed to have less time than I thought!
But I have a few nice things to share with you guys! :)
Random art I did this week :)
It’s a bit unstructured, but even with work and all the preparations, I still managed to do some art!
This is the cover of a zine I saw in my dream
I enjoyed drawing this tree :)
Also in the context of my wedding, I had to make some signage; and I took the opportunity to make some doodles to decorate them.
I actually wanted to use free-to-use graphics instead of making my own, but I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. So I thought I can just do it myself 😄
Now, onto another thing that kept me busy this week:
We are opening an art studio!
Well, not yet open, but soon to be 🙂↕️
Yes, you read that right. With my partner and a friend, we are preparing the opening of our own art studio.
We already signed the lease to rent a commercial space in the city center of Kraków, And this weekend, we have been busy repainting the walls in order to refresh the space! :)
On Sunday we spent almost six hours painting one room, and I realized that painting walls is way more physical than I thought it would be :’)
The space is located in a very ordinary tenement house and has only two small rooms and a bathroom. It’s meant to host very small offices, but that will be plenty enough for us.
It’s still clearly under renovation, but IRL it looks very nice already, and I’m very excited to have proper pictures once everything is done!
Here is a concept for what we would want the interior to be like:
But why are we opening an Art Studio? And what does it mean actually?
What we want to do is to have a dedicated space not only to do art and store our supplies, but also to teach and give group lessons for students.
Well, I might not myself give lessons myself (unless we find enough english speaking folks, maybe!), but I’m super excited to be part of this little adventure :)
How glamourous!
Time will tell all the cool things we’ll be able to do here.
It’s super exciting to imagine all the possibilities of having your own space outside of where you live: We can hold our own exhibition, I could have a small desk and do live streams, we can store very large amounts of stock for our market and conventions, or even just organize public movie nights with a big screen and a projector 😎
I will keep you up to date as we progress towards the grand opening!
We are going to a comic festival!
On another news, we got accepted my partner and I to table at Łódż’s 37th International Comics and Games Festival next month, one of the biggest festival of this kind in the country, and I’m very excited to be there!
Also their cover is super cool!
We will have time to talk about it and how I’m gonna prepare in a later newsletter (and I have a lot of plans!), but if you are from the region, definitely hit me up. It will be a pleasure to meet you.
This is a very different kind of festival than what I’m used to, we’ll have a lot to learn in the process :)
Alright, that's it for me this week! As promised I kept it short :)
As I explained I'll not see you next week, but I'm looking forward to come back to you soon after! I can't wait to be back into a good routine finally, those last few months have been insane 😄
Thank you once again for your attention and support on my art adventures, it's fun having you around! Enjoy the end of your summer 💛
Take care, - Nighten
